In recent weeks, Sofía Vergara has been seen in the company of Justin Saliman, a famous orthopedic surgeon. Three months after announcing her separation from actor Joe Manganiello after seven years of marriage, the actress was photographed several times very close to the new affair.

Surgeon and millionaire

According to PageSix, Justin Saliman graduated in medicine from the University of Colorado, with a postgraduate degree from the renowned Stanford. He specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopy, and also performs treatments and joint preservation for shoulder, hip and knee injuries.

The 43-year-old surgeon is also known for having developed a new surgical method of suturing the meniscus, the cartilage in the area of ​​the knee where injuries tend to occur. In 2019, Justin sold his company Ceterix Orthopedics and technology for US$105 million (approximately R$500 million).

In an interview with Forbes magazine, he commented that many surgeons blamed biology for the high failure rate in the procedure, but he believed that poor suturing techniques were the real reason for the problem. So he used sheep shoulders and human knees to test the technique he created, which turned out to be a success.

Saliman was married to American actress Bree Turner for 10 years, with whom he has two children: Stella, aged 13, and Dean, aged 9. Their marriage came to an end in 2018.

Divorce

In mid-July this year, Sofía Vergara and Joe Manganiello confirmed their divorce through a statement to PageSix. “We made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people who love and care deeply for each other, we politely ask that our privacy be respected at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.“, they commented at the time.

They met at an event at the White House in 2014, and tied the knot in November 2015, in Palm Beach.
