Thirty Seconds to Mars lifts the crowd on the second night of Lollapalooza

The Lollapalooza festival takes place this weekend (22, 23 and 24 March), at the Autódromo de Interlagos, in São Paulo. Among the main names in this edition are Blink-182, Arcade Fire, Kings Of Leon, Limp Bizkit, Titãs Encontro, Sam Smith and SZA. The band Thirty Seconds to Mars was one of the most anticipated attractions by the public of this edition. The Americans, from Los Angeles, brought their alternative rock to the stage and brought the crowd that was there to watch them to their feet.

Many hits and special appearances

Thirty Seconds to Mars' last visit to Brazil was at Rock in Rio, in 2017. Since then, a lot has changed in the group's career, such as the release of albums “America”, 2018 and “It's the End of the World, but It's a Beautiful Day”, 2023. This last album was the hook for the series of shows at Lollapalooza.

The presentation was short and succinct. The first song of the show was “Up in the Air”, which soon made the fans stir in the audience. Jared Leto, leader of the band, entered with his routine cape and sunglasses, creating a theatrical atmosphere during the first songs. The musician, who is also a successful American actor, said that “the Brazilian audience is the biggest of all”. In the song “The Kill“, he even got off the stage to sing along with the audience.

One of the most unusual moments happened in the middle of the show, when Fluminense player Marcelo entered the stage to play percussion with the band. He even translated words spoken by Jared Leto, such as “I want everyone to go crazy tonight!”. The vocalist, in turn, took off his cape and wore a Brazilian team shirt with the player's name on the back. Check out the moment.

At the end of the show, as usual in all of the band's performances, Jared invited some fans from the audience to jump with him to the music “Closer to the Edge”.
