Chanel unites retro modeled brush and “barbiecore” in new collection

Lots of pink and glitter dominated the parade “resort” from the Chanelwhich launched the collection cruise 2024“. The 71 looks paraded on the catwalk, inspired by the vibe of the city of Los Angeles, California, brought an air fashionista in style “Beverly Hills preppy girls“. For this purpose, the compositions had a very common touch in the 1980s and 1990s: the brush resumption full of voluminous waves.

The hairstyle of the moment is pure glamour, with very well-defined waves full of volume. The work is from hairstylist James Peciswho purposely placed the models’ hair parted to the side and created a kind of retro topknot for the launch of the collection of Virginie Viard.

The mini pieces, typical of hollywood in the last two decades of the 20th century, found in the more than current trend of the barbiecore the ideal scenario to abuse metallic and pink. Look at the looks on the runway: you don’t even have to try hard to remember the opening of the celebrity series Beverly Hills Girlfriends.

Also helping to compose the aura of the Chanel collection was make-up artist Lisa Butler, who combined the modeled brush with the common makeup at the time. The models walked lips and cheeks in peach tone and smoky eyes in brown. The warm colors, with the pastel tones of the looks, created visuals with a lot of glamour.
