Doja Cat reaches new milestone among female rappers on Spotify

Doja Cat has become a globally recognized artist. Therefore, she is increasingly gaining space on music streaming platforms. This Thursday, March 10, she achieved the brand of female rapper with the highest number of tracks with more than 100 million streams on Spotify Global. There are 13 Doja Cat songs with this brand. Until then, the rapper shared the position with Nicki Minaj, who has 12 songs over 100 million plays on the platform.

Last year, Doja Cat released “Planet Her”, her third studio album. The album has 14 tracks and features guest appearances such as Ariana Grande, SZA and The Weeknd. Several tracks exploded worldwide such as “You Right”, “Woman”, “Need To You” and “Kiss Me More”.

“Kiss Me More” is the album’s most successful track, being the first single and a collaboration with SZA. The song reached fourth place on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. On Spotify, the song already has more than a billion streams and on YouTube the clip has more than 300 million views.

At 25 years old, Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, better known by her stage name Doja Cat, already has a very successful career in the world of music. Born and raised in Los Angeles, the artist has become very versatile as a singer, rapper, lyricist and music producer. In 2012, her song “So High”, which she had made available on SoundCloud, began to receive several downloads. This ended up catching the attention of record companies, but it was in 2014 that she released her first EP: Purrr!

Since then, the artist has won more than 10 renowned awards as New Artist Push by the MTV Video Music Awards 2020 and Top R&B Female Artist by the Billboard Music Awards 2021. Doja Cat has also performed on the Grammy Award stages and seeks to continue to be successful.
