Go in Faith: Emilio Dantas talks about thoughts similar to Theo’s in the past

Emilio Dantas is one of the most popular actors today, largely because of his brilliant performance as the disgusting villain Theo in “go in faith”, from TV Globo, and the character has drawn a lot of fury from the public for his attitudes.

“I come from a completely macho generation. I grew up in the 1990s, I come from (program do) gugu and all the sexism going on. Since I made ‘All the women in the world’ (2020), I started to realize many wrong behaviors that I had and I was trying to fix them”, he declared, showing himself completely different from Theo.

ANALYZING THEO’S BEHAVIOR

This is not the first time that Emilio Dantas reflects on his past in the midst of Theo’s misdeeds in “Vai na Fé”, and in the podcast “Papo de Novela”, the star gave more details of the construction of the antagonist:

“I’m having a hell of a time. Theo’s creation process, I think, started first from a side of me that really wants to play, a lot of fun and that spent the pandemic watching a lot of wrong people, a lot of rude people, a lot of very ignorant people ”.

“His master ‘scrotitude’ comes from the text, right? That doesn’t even have anything to say (…). I think I gathered a lot. So, I was also a very asshole guy. My generation is a generation raised in a very sexist, very asshole system”, he revealed.

“And I saw and acted a lot like a Theo in life, not in the proportions that he presents there, obviously. But at least I managed to know where to get this place from. And also about everything we are seeing, all this ignorance, right?”, said Emílio.
