It’s a disaster! Prince William rehearses for a highly anticipated event in “difficult” conditions

Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at the age of 96, Prince Charles was officially proclaimed King of England to succeed her. The one who now reigns over the United Kingdom, under the name of Charles III, was crowned during a grand ceremony, which took place on Saturday May 6, 2023 within Westminster Abbey in London. Now that his father has ascended the throne of Britain, Prince William, as the eldest son of the new monarch, is now the first inheritor of the British crown in the order of succession of the British royal family. A new status that allowed him to acquire the title of Prince of Wales, previously held by his father.

As such, Prince William has certain duties and other responsibilities, especially from a military point of view. For example, he will have a prominent role in the upcoming Trooping the Color military parade, which will take place on Saturday June 17, 2023 to celebrate the birthday of King Charles III. As Prince of Wales, Kate Middleton’s husband will be responsible for leading the Welsh Mounted Guards. As a reminder, Prince William became Colonel of the Welsh Guards in December 2022. While the rehearsals for this famous parade took place on Saturday June 10, 2023 at Horse Guards Parade on the London side, several members of the army British vanished on the spot, due to the high temperatures currently affecting the country.

Despite these incidents, Prince William praised the troops for making a “very good work“at the last rehearsal,”despite difficult conditions“. In detail, no less than three soldiers collapsed, before being taken away on stretchers, while two others were helped to leave the field where parade rehearsals were taking place. Despite the high temperatures felt there, which reached 28 degrees, many British citizens gathered in St James’s Park to watch rehearsals for this military parade. For the record, preparations for this ceremony began even before the coronation of King Charles III.
