Practice ‘heating up’ causes health problems in trans women

The month of June is known for celebrating LGBT+ diversity. On the other hand, the community, which faces serious problems of social vulnerabilities, has been causing alarm in the health area. The reason is urinary infection and kidney failure caused by the practice of hiding the genitals of trans women with unsafe alternatives: “heat”.

The model Melina Queiroz, 22 years old, says that he used masking tape to warm it up and didn’t leave any volume to avoid being insulted by colleagues. However, the practice made the young woman stop going to the bathroom and drinking water, making the exercise of hiding the organ a tiring and dangerous practice: “It hurt me, it got to bake, to give allergy. But I had no choice”.

The term “heat” is an action performed by crossdressers, drag queens, transvestites and trans women in order to disguise the volume of the intimate organ, and works with the organ pulled back, staying between the buttocks. The objective is to disperse discriminatory attacks and bigotry.

However, when performing the method, many use unsuitable products causing serious health problems, among them the use of glue, adhesive tapes and strings, causing diaper rash, blisters and injuries. The practice also means that the person does not go to the bathroom due to the time that will be spent undoing the heat, in addition to being painful.

Going hours without drinking water or going to the bathroom, trans women face serious kidney problems leading to infections, kidney stones, hemodialysis (treatment that cleans the blood using machines) and even death.

According to the urologist Marcelo Magalhães LGBT+ health specialist, habits are the cause of complications. The doctor says that drinking little water and not going to the bathroom causes urinary infections and the formation of urinary stones. “This is what happens to people with a penis who hide their genitals and avoid going to the bathroom, for example.”, said Marcelo.

Silvana Bentoa hemotherapy technician, when observing the problem that harms public health, says that he did not conform and decides to create an intimate product aimed at trans women: “Knowing that several transgender women went to the point of having to undergo hemodialysis or undergo surgeries because of this, moved me.”.

The patented product designed by the health professional is in the shape of a funnel, bringing a comfortable design and the main thing to “security”. Silvana Bento, now a businesswoman, launched her underwear brand “tricks”. Check out the promotional video:

Being broadcast on record, in April, the product brought style, design, health, safety and sophistication. With the premise of being able to gain high scale and make it cheaper, Silvana wants the product to reach all trans women, allowing them to go to the bathroom with peace of mind.
