Robben talks to FC Groningen:
Arjen Robben has yet to make a decision on his future. The 96-time Dutch international carefully takes his time to think and consult with his club FC Groningen.
“At the end of the day, Arjen has to say something about it. What I can share is that we are talking about this with each other”, says Mark-Jan Fledderus, the technical director of FC Groningen, during the TV broadcast 50 years fc Groningen.
“He was with Bernadien (his wife, ed.) a week or two, three days ago. only been away to think about it. He’s not quite out yet.”
Fledderus fully understands the doubts of the 37-year-old Robben, who returned to his old club FC Groningen as a professional last season, but only made it to a handful of games due to injuries.
“On the one hand, he really wants to play football – you can tell by everything – and play in front of a full stadium again. On the other hand, he gets a day older, has some aches and pains in the body and has had a very tough year. That’s the struggle that’s out there.”
Robben made seven appearances in total. The former Chelsea, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Dutch player provided two assists, both during the away game with FC Emmen (0-4) at the beginning of May. also join us on Facebook for more updates
