Santos makes a difficult proposal to hire a Paraguayan defender from Krasnodar; ongoing negotiation!

Santos sought Krasnodar, from Russia, to hire Paraguayan defender Júnior Alonso. Negotiations are in the initial phase and the Santos board sees the business as difficult. In the fourteenth position of the Brazilian Championship, Santos is still looking for reinforcements for the season.

Currently at Krasnodar, Russia, Júnior Alonso stood out in Brazilian football for Atlético Mineiro, where he won the Brazilian Championship and the 2021 Copa do Brasil, in addition to three state championships. In 2022, the Minas Gerais club sold the defender to Krasnodar. Alonso has a contract until June 2025 with the Russian club. Last season, Junior Alonso played 19 games and scored just one goal.

The defender is known for his marking skills, anticipation skills and excellent technical qualities. His experience in international football, with spells at Celta de Vigo, from Spain, and Lille, from France, is also an attraction for Santos, who are looking to strengthen their squad for the rest of the season.

The possible arrival of Júnior Alonso would represent a great reinforcement for Santos, who are looking to rebuild in the national championship after a start to the season below expectations. With the defender in defense, coach Paulo Turra and his coaching staff hope to have a more solid and consistent defensive line, fundamental to the success of any team that fights to stay in Serie A.

There has still been no official position from Santos or Krasnodar on the negotiation, but Santos’ directors are cautious with the ongoing negotiations. The difficult financial situation of the Santos team could be an obstacle to the progress of the negotiations. Talks are still at the beginning and there is no forecast for an outcome. The transfer window closes on August 2nd.
