Born in November, King Charles III will be entitled to a celebration of his birthday a bit in advance. As has been the British tradition since 1748, the sovereign will be honored during the parade Trooping The Color, this multicolored parade which once put Queen Elizabeth II in the spotlight – which is systematically organized on the second Saturday of June. This is a first for Charles, who became king on May 6, during a coronation followed around the world. But for this new stage, he will not be surrounded by 100% of the members of the royal family.
He was stripped of all his honours, his uniform and his titles
As you might have guessed, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle will not be leaving California for an express round trip with their children, Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2. What we didn’t know, however, was that the Duke of Sussex would say to himself “relieved” to avoid this historic event. This is what Tessa Dunlop, an expert in English royalty, assures the Mirror. “Despite his two impressive interventions in Afghanistan, he is now an ordinary veteran, like any former soldiershe explains. He was stripped of all his honours, uniform and titles. He agreed to take part last year for the Queen, who was celebrating her Platinum Jubilee. But he only appeared with Meghan as a gust of wind, in civilian clothes, through a window. He did not appear on the balcony. Those days are over. Will he miss them? I doubt.”
All of Prince Harry’s recent appearances in England have indeed been on modest terms. Relegated to the back of the rooms, deprived of certain parts of the events … the Duke of Sussex would simply be annoyed at the idea of going into the background, behind his older brother Prince William. “Serving as a substitute (the title of his controversial autobiography, Ed.) annoyed himrecalls Tessa Dunlop. I think he is relieved not to have to cross the Atlantic for another ceremonial halt.“
