The Rio Marathon routes will be announced tomorrow, but we already know what changes

We had access to the new Rio Marathon courses and there will be a change that will please Greeks and Trojans who will run the race on June 10th and 11th

The routes for the Rio Marathon (42, 21, 10 and 5 km) will be announced tomorrow, May 12th, but we had early access to the tracks and there will be a change that will please a lot of people, especially those who ran the 42 or 21 km last year: Leme was left out.

For those who don’t remember, the section removed was the one after Copacabana, with about 1.8 km, in which the runners had to go straight to Leme, make a U-turn and only then take Av. Princesa Isabel to head towards Botafogo. Compensation will be made in the Old Town of Rio.

As I already wrote above, this change covers both 42 km and 21 km. Now we just have to wait for the routes to be released so we can see what changes there in the Center.

More info on the official race website (ah, registration for the 42 km and 21 km is sold out)
