Good news for the many fans of Martina Navratilova, the tennis legend seems to be doing much better. It must be said that there was cause for concern for the champion, who announced at the beginning of the year to be suffering from a double cancer of the throat and the breast.
In a message posted on her Twitter account on June 19, she announced very good news to her community. “After a day full of tests, everything is fine! Thanks to all the doctors, nurses, proton magicians, etc. What a relief”, she writes, necessarily very happy to be able to announce the good news. Proof that this fight was not easy for the former tennis player, she adds the hashtags “bye bye cancer” And “f*ck cancer” at the end of his tweet.
This is very good news for Martina Navratilova, as the announcement of her cancer has had the effect of a real shock in the world of tennis. At the beginning of January, the one who is married to the beautiful Julia Lemigova, known to be one of the greatest champions in history, announced that she was suffering from double throat and breast cancer. “This double whammy is serious but still reversible (…) I hope for a favorable outcome. It will stink for a while, but I will fight with everything I have”she explained, in a press release quoted by the WTA (Association of tennis players, editor’s note).
Cancer detected at an early stage
Very sad news for the champion from Prague, in the Czech Republic and naturalized American from 1981. It was also last October, during the finals of the WTA tournament in Fort Worth, where she lives, that she felt a lump in his throat. After carrying out tests, the verdict fell the following month. “That’s when the doctors discovered stage 1 throat cancer, then stage 1 breast cancer”, explains Martina Navratilova in the same press release. Cancers caught at an early stage and obviously, the champion responded very well to the treatments, which led to the good news that she has just announced to her fans on social networks.
Now cured, Martina Navratilova can therefore think about the future serenely!
