Arrascaeta is out of the Carioca Championship finals against Fluminense

In addition to being absent from the two games of the Carioca Championship decision against Fluminense, the star will also be left out of Fla’s first game in the Copa Libertadores, in the duel against Aucas, from Ecuador, away from home, next Wednesday (5).

Arrascaeta, who has been suffering from pain in his left thigh since the end of last year, felt the adductor muscle again in the second leg of the state semifinal, on March 19, against Vasco. The injury caused the midfielder to be cut from the call-up of the Uruguay national team, which played two friendlies on the last FIFA date.

If the treatment of the injury goes as planned, the Uruguayan’s return to the pitch should take place between the last week of April and the first of May. In addition to the aforementioned games, the player would also miss the following matches: round trip against Maringá-PR, for the third phase of the Copa do Brasil, against Ñublense-CHI, for the second round of Libertadores, and against Coritiba, Internacional and Botafogo, for the Brazilian Championship.

As if the adductor problem were not enough, Arrascaeta has been dealing with pubalgia for a few months now, which has already left the star out of several Flamengo matches since the beginning of 2022. In the final stretch of last year, the star played in the sacrifice in most critical moments of the season, including the finals of the Copa do Brasil, against Corinthians, and the Libertadores decision, against Athletico-PR.

Regarding the substitute for the Uruguayan, Vitor Pereira must opt ​​for the return of Everton Ribeiro to the starting lineup. The player, who started 2023 with prestige for the final stretch of the previous year, had been a substitute in the last three games for the Rio de Janeiro team.
