In addition to Botafogo's victory, one of the highlights of the match was coach Artur Jorge's positioning after the final whistle, recognizing the capacity and competence of the black and white team: “We have a broader context to analyze. The game itself was not played very well by Botafogo. It was a more painful game than a well-played one, but it was a game where victory suits us very well because we didn't allow the opponent any opportunities and we had clear opportunities to score a goal. The victory takes Botafogo to second place in Group E, with 9 points. First placed in the group is Junior Barranquilla, who have the same score, only winning on goal difference (3-1). Universitario and LDU appear in third and fourth place, with five and four points, respectively. However, they now have no chance of advancing.

As the Brazilian Championship was paused due to the tragedies in Rio Grande do Sul, Botafogo will only play next Wednesday (22), at 7pm, when they face Vitória in Barradão in the second leg of the third phase of the Copa do Brasil. As the Cariocas won the first game 1-0, they have the advantage of advancing with a draw.

The next match for the Libertadores will be on May 28th (Tuesday), at 7pm, against Junior Barranquilla in Colombia, valid for the sixth and final round of the tournament's group stage, preceding the round of 16.
