In an event that took place this week, which celebrates the 100 days left until the start of the 2024 Olympics, which will take place in Paris, the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB) presented the new uniforms that will be used by the non-Brazilian athletic delegation. just for the journey to the games but also for the opening ceremony that will take place on July 26th in the capital of France, Paris.

The costumes, which were produced in Rio Grande do Norte, both in the semi-arid region of the state and in Natal, were made in a sustainable and artisanal way and were produced by the skillful hands of embroiderers from Timbaúba dos Batistas.

From the production

Recycled fabric was used to make the clothes and the details on the embroidered denim jackets were handmade. The clothes were designed and developed by Riachuelo, the committee's official fashion brand. The clothing sets were designed with the aim of portraying the diversification of Brazilian fauna and flora, expressing the richness of our country's plant and wild life.

The color palette was chosen to pay homage to the country's flag, with colors such as green, blue and yellow incorporating most of the pieces. It was modeled and made with consideration and sophistication, elegance and beauty of the pieces so that the athletes' appearance was highlighted.

Riachuelo as official brand

COB's marketing director, Gustavo Herbetta, cites the choice of Riachuelo as the official brand of the Brazilian Olympic Committee and we presented Riachuelo with the challenge of capturing our vision as a brand in the Brazilian team's parade uniform, with a more avant-garde and innovative approach, incorporating local influence and the desire to convey the best of Brazil in this emblematic and memorable moment for athletes.
