At the Iguatemi mall, the stylist gih caldas presented his collection entitled “Flying Kites and Dreams“, for the TA Studios, a brand that has been gaining ground when it comes to ecological awareness and innovation. The purpose of the show was to address issues such as mental health and represented the visual arts as a therapeutic tool, telling the story of its “lighter” tailoring. The differential brought to the collection was the choice and manufacture of models with kite prints, inspired by the works of the Brazilian artist Candido Portinari.

Gih Caldas’ creations are made with sustainable materials, since the focus of TA Studios is the ecological agenda. Reforested materials, banana tree fibers, recycled PET and organic cotton were some of the main raw materials chosen by the brand. During the parade in Sao Paulo Fashion Week (SPFW), the brand was also highlighted for bringing an unusual element with a special symbology to the traditional event: hair with raised strands. The elaborate headbands, which grew out of the models’ heads, were created under the direction of Marcello Costa.

As already mentioned, the choice of hairstyles was not by chance. The intention behind these hairstyles was to bring to light themes such as female empowerment and freedom of expression. Knowing that hair has always been an important feature of the female image, the brand opted for an unusual and creative hairstyle to symbolize the diversity of thoughts and styles of each woman. Taking almost two weeks to complete, the hairstyles were done using hairspray and drew a lot of attention from viewers.

With regard to makeup, the colors and techniques used were inspired by the Carioca summer, with looks marked by warmer tones and the use of highlighters in strategic regions of the models’ faces.

A TA Studios and the team led by Marcello Costa once again demonstrated their ability to create a collection full of innovative and striking looks, marking yet another edition of SPFW.
