“Football gave me everything I dreamed of”

“It wasn’t sudden. I’ve been working on this. I have a staff. We are thinking about some projects. Things need to happen slowly. It’s letting that reality come to light. It’s working mentally with the support of my family”followed Goulart.

Goulart leaves the lawns with a victorious career. At the best of times, between 2013 and 2014, he won the Brazilian championship for the second time with Cruzeiro. His prominence at the Minas Gerais club earned him calls to friendlies for the Brazilian national team. In Chinese football, he also accumulated several trophies.

“I have always been professional, I do self-criticism. My whole career has been like that. I arrived last year, we managed to gain access. And this year we did a pre-season, we got Campeonato Baiano. I think that, in the last few days, games, my numbers… I was demanding a lot from myself. In life, we have to know how to withdraw. It wasn’t for lack of dedication. I think that, when some situations start to show, we have to have the wisdom to be grateful”, added.

The attacking midfielder arrived at Bahia in August last year. In the 2022 season, he played 16 games and scored two goals for Tricolor de Aço, including the goal of the fundamental victory over Basquewhich contributed to the club’s access to the first division of the Brasileirão.

In 2023, after a goal-scoring start to the season, Goulart lost space in the team and saw Everaldo win the competition for the position. In the last five games, he only played in 35 minutes. In all, there are 32 matches and five balls in the net for Tricolor.

“I take the relationship with people. I think that, in the clubs where I went, there was no lack of respect. I am friends with former players who are older than me. People talk, tell stories. Now I’m going to live on that side. I chose Bahia to retire, I’m a group person, I take it easy. Where I enter, I want to leave in the best way. I’m being a man. I’m retiring very happy, grateful that Bahia reached out to me when I needed it most. I leave with the image of a raised trophy. It is priceless”said Goulart.
