The source code for the first Far Cry, released in 2004, has been leaked online. Called “Far Cry 1.34 Complete”, the code for the game has been posted on the website archive.org at the end of June, as highlighted by Brazilian modder Vinícius Medeiros.
According to some users who have downloaded and run the source code, it is almost complete.
“My guess is that this is a source framework leak for the PC version of the game to add support for Ubisoft’s game launcher/DRM,” reads a comment on the archive.org website.
“It contains some .exes (files), but no Xbox code and no game assets. The code that is there doesn’t compile without 332 errors (I may have also set the dev env wrong). So I think you can get some PC debug version of this game running if you put some effort into it and learn the codebase.”
If you want to download the code, just go to this link to do this.
