United lose with Ronaldo to Arsenal,
Manchester United on Saturday further behind in the battle for the Champions League tickets in the Premier League. With the returned Cristiano Ronaldo in the starting line-up, United lost on a visit to rival Arsenal: 3-1.
Ronaldo made his comeback at the Emirates Stadium at Manchester United after his newborn son died earlier this week.
He let Tuesday’s away game with Liverpool (1-4) logically pass him by.
After more than half an hour, Ronaldo proved his worth for United, which at that time was 2-0 behind thanks to goals from Nuno Tavares (tap-in) and Bukayo Saka (penalty). Ronaldo tapped in between two Arsenal defenders in the connecting goal.
It marked the hundredth Premier League goal for Ronaldo in an emotional duel for him. Fifteen of the hundred hits he made this season.
The other goals he scored in his first period with the team from Manchester (2003-2009).

Champions League football uncertain for Ten Hag
In the second half, United, where captain Harry Maguire was on the bench, stepped up the pressure. Bruno Fernandes had the chance for the equalizer from the penalty spot, but hit the post with a low slider. Barely six minutes later, the post was hit again by Diogo Dalot.
