Affleck gave an interview to the radio network Spain La Cadena SER and demonstrated his fluency in the Spanish language when talking about his new film ‘Air: The Story Behind the Logo’ (2023). The vehicle shared an excerpt from the interview on TikTok this week, where the American actor is seen saying: “What’s important to understand is that this is not the story of Michael Jordan. And Michael Jordan doesn’t appear in the movie; he’s so big, so important, so magnificent that there’s no actor in the world that the audience can see and say: ‘Look, it’s Michael Jordan’.

“I had to give Michael Jordan my respect”the artist continued. “And he wasn’t paying, it wasn’t his rights. There’s nothing of him (in the film). For me, it’s important to respect him. But I wouldn’t make this film if he said he didn’t want me to do it. So I had the opportunity I wanted to talk to him and asked him, ‘What are the most important things about this story for you?’ He told me about three things and asked me to have the character of Howard White (Chris Tucker, who we have with us now) and George Raveling. The third, and most important, was that he said, ‘You have to have Viola Davis like my mother.’ It’s like saying, ‘You have to play basketball, but you have to be like Michael Jordan.’

At age 13, Ben spent a year in Mexico with his family to record a children’s program and mastered Spanish.
