CH to win Stanley Cup Final

The Montreal Canadiens put their own into their ambitions by winning the fifth game of the semifinal series they play against the Vegas Golden Knights 4-1 on Tuesday night at T-Mobile Arena.

La Sainte-Flanelle took a 3-2 lead and could get its ticket to the Stanley Cup Final on Thursday night in front of its fans.

Visibly inspired, all the CH players put their shoulders to the wheel. Eight players got at least one point, no one cheated defensively and Carey Price was dominant.

Offensively, both the young and the old skaters of the Tricolore have made his own. It was Jesperi Kotkaniemi who opened the scoring in the first half. The third overall pick in the 2018 draft outsmarted Marc-André Fleury with a feint of the backhand, after beating his speed roofer.

The Quebec goaltender found his net, which had been left out in favour of Robin Lehner in the fourth game of the series. In total, “Flower” fended off 22 of his opponents’ 25 throws.

Fleury was also foiled by shots from Eric Staal and Cole Caufield, both of whom hit the target in the second period. On his success, the young number 22 once again demonstrated the extent of his talent as a maverick. Benefiting from a power play and a turnover from Mark Stone, Caufield took a shot on reception with disconcerting speed.

Nick Suzuki, who had previously amassed two assists, rounded out the scoring in an empty net.

In front of his cage, Carey Price was true to form and made 26 saves. The CH goaltender was denied his second shutout of the series by Max Pacioretty in the third period. It was the first goal for the former Captain of the Canadiens against the Quebec team in the playoffs
