Marta wins a post from her girlfriend in Brazil’s World Cup debut
Brazil debuted with a 4-0 victory against Panama in the Women’s World Cup. Marta, our number 10, started on the bench, but entered the game in the second half. Carrie Lawrence, who is a defender for the Orlando Pride, the same team as Marta, made a post in which she marked the athlete and even put passionate emojis in the image.
A curious fact is that Carrie Lawrence is a defense partner of Toni Deion, who is Marta’s ex-girlfriend, at Orlando Pride. Deion and the Brazilian even got engaged, but the relationship came to an end after 11 months.
With a time difference between 13 and 15 hours in relation to the official time in Brasilia, the games of the 1st phase of the Brazilian Women’s National Team in the 2023 World Cup will take place in the morning, following Brasilia time. The world takes place in New Zealand and Australia.
After the defeat against the selection of Panama by 4 to 0, still in the first phase of the tournament, Brazil will have two more confrontations: on Saturday, July 29, against France; and on Wednesday, August 2 against Jamaica, both at 7:00 am.
Brazil is part of group F, as well as its opponents Panama, France and Jamaica. In the first phase of the competition, the 32 participating teams are divided into eight groups and face each other internally, seeking to score the highest number of points.
The top two teams in each group advance to the round of 16, a knockout phase consisting of eight unique matches.
WHERE TO WATCH THE GAMES IN BRAZIL?
The games will be broadcast on an open channel by TV Globo and on SportTV (closed channel). Online, Casimiro Miguel’s YouTube channel, CazéTV, will broadcast and leave the videos saved for those who want to watch the matches later.
