The bad news has been linked for Meghan Markle for a few days. Indeed, Prince Harry’s wife recently saw the contract that bound her to the Spotify streaming platform be broken. Therefore, the second season of his podcast titled Archetypes, where she conducted interviews with influential women, will never see the light of day. With a view to this canceled second season, Meghan Markle had personally invited a major international star to her show. Unfortunately for her, the Duchess of Sussex suffered an affront. Indeed, according to the information revealed by the wall street journalsinger Taylor Swift refused to participate in the podcast of the former star of the series Suits.
Meghan Markle had however written a personal letter in which she asked the musician to participate in her show. The interpreter of the tube Shake it off in fact declined this invitation through one of its representatives. For the record, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed a $25 million deal with Spotify, through their production company Archewell Audio, shortly after officially stepping down from the British royal family. Finally, their collaboration with the streaming platform did not last. “Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we’ve made together“, had indicated Spotify on June 15, 2023.
Harry & Meghan: their contract with Netflix called into question?
The loss of this contract is a blow for the couple, and more particularly for Prince Harry, who seemed to have several podcast ideas for Spotify. According to anonymous sources quoted by the magazine Bloomberg, the Duke of Sussex had plans to do interviews with Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin and Mark Zuckerberg, among others. He wanted to ask them about traumas related to their childhood, but also about major societal issues, religion and climate change. After Spotify, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could also lose their contract with Netflix. According to wall street journalthe American streaming platform would not have planned to renew its agreement with the couple after 2025. A new blow which would represent a significant loss of income for the Sussexes.
