Orlando Magic announces it will play friendly against Flamengo

O Orlando Magic, team of NBA Eastern Conference, announced this Tuesday (30) that he will face the Flamengo in a friendly match on October 20, at 8 pm, at Amway Center, arena located in Florida, United States. The friendly will mark the end of the pre-season of the Orlando Magic.

Rodolfo Landim, president of Flamengocommented on the partnership between the teams in the news released by the club’s website.

“Flamengo is always in the sights of big international teams and FlaBasquete is one of the proofs of that. In recent years, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NBA has closed its doors to international teams, but now, facing a new season in the most relevant league in world basketball, the Orlando Magic has returned to Flamengo to reinforce the partnership once again. on the courts”commented Landim.

O Orlando Magic published a video of the player on his Instagram Paolo Banchero, young man who was elected as better rookie of the season, talking about what he expects from the confrontation against Flamengo. Check out the video below.

That will be the fourth time which teams will face each other in history. On other occasions, the Flamengo ended up being defeated three times by Orlando Magic, playing two games in Florida and one in Rio de Janeiro. The first confrontation between the teams was in 2014, when Flamengo was invited to participate in the NBA preseason; the red black was the first Brazilian team in history to compete in the tournament.

That season, neither team won national tournaments: the Flamengo was eliminated in the semifinals of NBB for the São Paulo, losing the series 3-0. O Orlando Magic didn’t even qualify for the NBA playoffs, finishing as 13th in the Eastern Conference.
