Remember the men’s makeup at the Met Gala

Conducted annually by Costume InstituteO Met Gala is one of the most anticipated fashion events of the year. As a showcase full of styles, full of daring and spectacular trends, the “met” goes beyond what we call fashion.

Makeup, increasingly common among men, one of the powerful tools for self-expression, has been gaining ground and inserting the gender in the world of beauty. Men’s makeup has gained traction on the event’s red carpet as well as in popular culture over the years.

This association between aesthetic care and self-care is related to a set of practices that favor one’s own well-being and, consequently, health. But in recent years makeup has been gaining ground in the male world, being used mainly as a form of “expression”.

Everything that goes through red carpet in fashion events, gain notoriety in society. It generates more acceptance and the search to use everything we saw in the shows, the demand of the beauty market for men is growing more and more.

pharrell williams got back to the topic punkwith an eye pencil along her waterlines at the 2013 event. While in 2016, Kanye West she took the transformation to another level, wearing blue eye contact lenses that sparkled alongside her crystal-embroidered Balmain jacket.

The singer troye sivan dared even more by showing up with golden eyes and glowing skin – tapping into the celestial spirit of the 2018 exhibition “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”.

Harry Stylesin 2019, she painted her nails a dark shade and touches of teal, providing a match with her ruffled black blouse, from gucci. Darren Criss It is Marc Jacobs they bet on a graphic outline; Michael Urie made one of the smoky eyes and walked with a look split in the middle.
