Roger Guedes and Paulinho comment on Luxembourg

This Tuesday (2), Corinthians was defeated by Independiente del Valle, at Neo Química Arena, in the third round of the Libertadores group stage. After the defeat, some players were questioned about the team’s performances and about Luxembourg’s work.

Remembering that Luxemburgo agreed with the team on Monday and with just one day of work he was already in charge of the team for Libertadores.

The first to comment on the situation was shirt number 10, Roger Guedes, who even had a good performance in the match, including scoring the team’s goal.

Roger Guedes in the post game interview said that the main focus is to win again and only then will it be possible to evaluate Vanderlei Luxemburgo.

Another who commented on the team’s performance was midfielder Paulinho, saying that the team starts the matches off and only after being behind on the scoreboard does it try to react.

“We need to be careful. We always go in disconnected, we take the goal and we want to reverse it later. It’s no use. Duílio (club president) has been helping us, he does his best for us. Corinthians does not have an easy situation in the competition. At the moment the team occupies the third place in Group E, with 3 points in 3 matches played. Argentinos Juniors leads the group with 7 points and del Valle comes in second with 6 points. In the next rounds, the team will have to make their results away from home in order to have a chance to advance.

Now it’s time to take advantage of the fact that the team will have a few days of rest, to be able to work and put into practice the ideas of the new coach of the team.

The next match will only be on Monday against Fortaleza, also at Neo Química Arena, for the fourth round of the Brazilian Championship.
