How to make wholemeal cake
To make a simple wholemeal cake, start by beating the egg yolks, margarine and sugar in a blender to make a white cream. Then sift the flour and baking powder and gradually add to the mixture, alternating with milk. Beat the egg whites and add, stirring gently with a spatula. Then shape the mixture into a greased and floured mold and bake in a preheated medium oven at 180ºC for about 30 minutes. To find out if the wholemeal cake is ready, first do the toothpick test and, finally, let the cake cool down a little before unmolding it. Then it’s ready to eat! If desired, coat the cake with icing sugar.
