The Nike Pegasus reaches its 40th edition arrives first to Nike.com members

One of the brand’s most emblematic sneakers has a new edition that hits stores from May 16th in Nike.com, Centauro.com and Nike stores and then, in June, it will be on the shelves of specialized stores.

Released in 1983, the Pegasus model gained a reputation in the running community as a reliable shoe. This year, we celebrate 40 years of the Nike Pegasus, which has been the most consistently popular running shoe of all time – for all runners. The new Nike Pegasus 40 traces Nike’s heritage from the earliest days, while delivering technological evolutions with a focus on the key features that ensured its fans for life: fit, responsive ride and lightweight feel.

What does he have again? The midfoot region of the Pegasus 40 has been redesigned to ensure a tighter, more comfortable fit, so it fits all foot types, regardless of your arch size. The upper’s mesh has been re-engineered to maintain the perfect Pegasus fit with even more ventilation, where traditional sandwich mesh has been painstakingly individually designed. The result of this set is an even more comfortable and adjustable fit.

Improved collar, with more comfort: The collar of the Pegasus 40 features more foam, bringing greater comfort in the ankle region. The inner lining and padding, which run the length of the shoe’s upper, have been redesigned for a smoother fit.

Breathability: The single-ply mesh features familiar and trusted structures and yarns, providing a highly breathable fit, favoring foot ventilation. Mesh engineering helps improve air circulation under hot and sweaty conditions.

Damping: Nike React cushioning technology in the midsole ensures a smooth, responsive ride. The Pegasus 40 includes two Zoom Air pods, in the forefoot and heel, which gives you a feeling of energy and momentum when you take your toes off the ground. The result is a smooth, comfortable ride from heel to toe.

SPECIAL COLLECTION. To celebrate the 40th iteration of Nike’s most popular running shoe, the Pegasus arrives in 3 different color combinations dedicated to its past, present and future.

• The “Passado” collection comes with 4 swooshes (Nike’s trademark) celebrating 4 decades of Pegasus while maintaining key features that runners know intimately.

• The “Present” brings a summer feeling. The “Golden Hour” color palette refers to the first and last hours of sunshine that create magical moments when you run outdoors.

• The “Future” collection is a reminder of the metaverse (metaworld), bringing high-visibility digital sparkles and dark ambient color palettes such as fuchsia, pink, cyan and navy blue.

The models of the new Nike Pegasus 40 collection will be launched from May 16 on Nike.com, Centauro.com and at Nike stores. Starting in June, the product will be available at select retailers.
