Arturo Vidal signs a contract until the end of the season!

This Friday (14), Athletico Paranaense announced the signing of Chilean defensive midfielder Arturo Vidal, who is 36 years old. The player signed a contract valid until the end of this season with the club from Curitiba and will wear the shirt number 23 of Furacão.

Athletico managed to settle with Vidal after the Chilean terminated his contract with Flamengo. The player received R$ 1.6 million as payment from the Rio de Janeiro team on his departure.

In an interview with the club’s official website, Vidal said that it was incredible to meet Athletico Paranaense and that he was delighted with the club and its structure. The player also said that he knows the team’s potential to win big titles and made it clear that he wants to win another Libertadores.

“When people at the club spoke to me, they made me feel the same way I felt when I left Chile. A lot of ambition to achieve important things, in a team that always thinks big, that wants to win things that it never achieved. It filled me with joy. I still have a lot to do. I want to win another Libertadores and this is a team that is suited to my ambitions and my spirit”said Vidal.

At the end of the interview, the Chilean said that the Athletic fans will be able to expect a lot from him on the pitch.

“The fans can expect that, every time I take the field, I will leave my life to help my teammates and help Athletico Paranaense to win. You’re going to see the best Vidal you’ve ever seen here in Brazil. I feel spectacular. This new stage of my life will be the best”, said the player.

Arturo Vidal began his career at Colo-Colo, in Chile, where he was three times national champion. In Europe, the player has played for great teams, such as Barcelona, ​​Bayern Munich and Juventus. Being champion in almost all the teams he passed, Vidal is the Chilean player with more titles in the history of football, with 25 cups raised.
