Barcelona coach Xavi speaks out after racism against Vini Jr

And I’m working. I don’t see a baker go through this, or a mason, or a journalist. Only in football”.

In addition, the Blaugrana coach added: “The insults need to stop, they need to be out of football. I think it’s a message for the president of the league, the federation, everyone. Who has to put up with an insult? If you insult a mason, he will hit you with a tile on the head. We have to impose ourselves. With insults, the match has to stop, nobody is obliged to put up with this kind of thing”.

The Barcelona commander also explained what must be done, in his opinion, for cases of racism to cease. “We need to be tough with this kind of thing, I think it’s an educational issue. We need to educate people in a way that they understand that you don’t go to a football stadium to insult someone. We are not going to the theater to offend anyone. I may not like it, but I don’t offend it.he said.

Despite the existence of numerous similar cases, Xavi stated: “I don’t think it goes as far as to assume that La Liga or Spain are racist. But there are racist acts. And we must condemn these acts. Many say that footballers and coaches should be an example for society, but if we are in an environment that offends us and curses us all over, we cannot be an example. And that’s what happens with Vini, there’s no way not to revolt”.
