Caio Castro wins 2nd consecutive podium at Copa Truck

That’s love for speed! Caio Castro finished the fifth stage of Copa Truck in second position and won the second consecutive podium. The race was held on Sunday, July 2, at the Autódromo Zilmar Beux, in Cascavel, Paraná.

“There are two consecutive podiums, and today we start in 9th place, so taking second place makes me very proud of the work we are building on the track, I am very happy and grateful to everyone who is part of this team that makes it happen”, celebrated Caio Castro .

After racing in several motorsport categories and conquering great victories, Caio competes this season in the Copa Truck for the ASG Motor Sports team, from Mercedes-Benz. Alongside Caio, the team includes competitors: Bia Figueiredo, former Formula Indy and four-time champion Roberval Andrade.

The driver became a professional in Karting in 2017. Caio was champion in the KDS Silver Series 2022, runner-up in the Porsche Cup 2021, in the GT3 and Endurance categories, where he accumulated victories and the title of the hundredth driver to win a Porsche Cup race , in Interlagos.

The Copa Truck, the main truck competition in the world, returns to the tracks next July 30th, in Goiânia, for the dispute of the sixth stage of the season. The schedule for the day foresees a race at the end of the week.

The competition is the main category of trucks on the planet, with 5-ton cars that exceed 200km/h. Each stage is composed of two races with 25 min and 20 min in sequence, and with inversion of the grid between the top 8 placed.

The calendar has 8 stages, in 7 weekends of 2023, as follows: 03/19 – Goiânia; 04/30 – Interlagos; 03/06 and 04/06 – Londrina; 02/07 – Rattlesnake; 07/30 – Goiânia; 10/15 – Tarumã; and 10/12 – São Paulo.
