Cartier exhibition gathers super millionaire collection in Mexico

The exposure Cartier’s Design: A Living Legacy is taking place at the Jumex Museum and will remain open until mid-May in the Mexican capital.

The exhibition brings together thousands of beautiful pieces – some of them from the beginnings of maisonfounded in 1847. Altogether there are around 3,000 high-end jewelery items.

No wonder, the grandiose event officially started with a gala dinner for the organizers, guests and buyers and promises to be very dazzling for those who visit.

Cartier’s Design: A Living Legacy It is a must-have for jewelry design, history and fashion lovers in general. The exhibition is rich in detail and in pieces of the highest quality and beauty.

Here you get to know the heart and soul of one of the most acclaimed brands of the contemporary era. In addition to the items themselves being very valuable – literally -, it is very clear and interesting to observe the evolution and changes of the brand over the years: the innovations of designs materials and production methods, in addition to having a glimpse of the period in which each piece was made.

The pieces, from the most classic to the most iconic of the French brand (mainly those inspired by the animal kingdom), are represented in different ways throughout the exhibition rooms, through projections and physical elements.

And it wasn’t easy to gather all this collection for the exhibition, a lot of effort, research and even purchases (retrieving items that had already been purchased) were necessary to materialize the huge project.

María Felix, called by many “La doña”, was a very successful actress in Mexico and had many pieces by the brand, many of which were unusual and made to order for the actress.

The 2-in-1 crocodile necklace/brooch is one of the most striking products made for Felix, with 2473 diamonds and numerous hours of production.
