“WhatI want to explain more about my interview in the last game. Those were troubled days. It is important to express myself. It was a declaration with the intention of softening a little the negative consequences that our group was suffering. Athletes cursed on social networks and in the streets, being threatened. We have to make it clear that it was a position made by all and supported by me. The reference was for the fight for rights and against any violence against women. It was done. These negative effects are quite unfair. I respect the whole history of women’s football a lot.”.

In the last week, before the duel against Internationalthe coach even stated that it was not a direct message to the then coach Cuca, but that it was just a message of support for women in general.

At that moment, after the statements, the coach claims that the group has felt the loss of strength not only with the fans, but also within the backstage of the club.

“It is unfair that we lose strength with our fans and lose strength internally within our club. It’s my responsibility, as a coach, to the press, to look at how everything should be looked at. I am sure that with this project we will have an impact on the next generation. We have a chance to transform a football that has always been sexist. We contribute a lot. It’s a new market. I will always be with my players, my athletes, to fight for what they deserve, for what women’s football deserves. Which is voice and respect”.

Despite this troubled moment that the team and athletes are experiencing internally, and the coach’s statement before the match, Corinthians ran over Cruzeiro. The team from Parque São Jorge won with a resounding 7 to 1, and is currently in third place in the competition.
