Lawyer files lawsuit asking for deportation of Cristiano Ronaldo after obscene gesture

Cristiano Ronaldo’s obscene gesture after Al-Nassr’s 2-0 defeat by Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League continues to pay off in Saudi Arabia. Frustrated with his team’s new stumbling block and after being provoked by rival fans with shouts of “Messi, Messi” as he left the field, CR7 took his hand to his genitals and smiled sarcastically towards the opposing crowd.

After the negative national repercussion, Nouf bin Ahmed, a local lawyer, who is a university professor and adviser to the United Nations (UN), went to court and decided to file a lawsuit demanding Cristiano’s deportation, claiming that the act of the star Portuguese constitutes an offense which, when committed by a foreign national, warrants arrest and deportation.

In addition to the gesture, bin Ahmed also criticized the “rear naked choke” that Cristiano Ronaldo gave Gustavo Cuéllar during the match. “I don’t follow (soccer), but the behavior is inappropriate and the conduct (the gesture) represents a crime that is publicly indecent. This requires arrest and deportation when performed by a foreign person.”said the lawyer.

Al-Nassr, in response to “EFE”, the Spanish news agency, defended CR7, saying that the Portuguese was injured in a sensitive region of the body after the dispute with Cuéllar. Regarding possible sanctions due to the gesture, the club and the player have not officially manifested themselves.

Meanwhile, on the field, the moment is not the best for both Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr. After stumbling against Al Feiha and losing to Al-Hilal, CR7’s club – which changed coaches last week – was second in the Saudi League with 53 points, three less than Al-Ittihad, leader with a game less.

With six games to go in the championship, Al-Nassr will have to overcome the chaos of the moment and count on Cristiano’s goals. The striker has 11 goals in 13 matches with the club’s shirt.
