E-commerce giant Amazon and technology powerhouse Microsoft have announced massive investments in their French operations, boosting the European country's economy amid the Choose France summit held in Versailles.
With an investment of 1.2 billion euros (R$6.65 billion), Amazon plans to build new cloud computing capacity on the outskirts of Paris, meeting the growing demand for generative artificial intelligence and creating 3,000 permanent jobs. This move further consolidates Amazon's presence in France, where it already employs 22,000 employees and continues to expand its logistics infrastructure.
For its part, Microsoft plans to invest 4 billion euros in the development of the French artificial intelligence sector. In addition to building new infrastructure, the Seattle-based technology company is committed to training one million people in AI skills and supporting 2,500 local startups. These investments include the opening of a new data center in Mulhouse and reflect Microsoft's commitment to strengthening France's technology ecosystem.

These announcements came during the seventh annual Choose France summit, initiated by President Emmanuel Macron in 2018 to attract foreign investment to the country. This year, the summit witnessed a record €15 billion in investment, a significant increase compared to the previous year.
In addition to Amazon and Microsoft, other multinational companies such as AstraZeneca, GSK and Accenture are also ready to announce substantial investments in France. These investments are expected to boost economic growth and create thousands of jobs across the country.
In a concerted effort to strengthen the French financial sector, Wall Street giant Morgan Stanley also plans to expand its Paris campus, adding 100 new jobs to the French capital. These initiatives highlight international companies' continued confidence in the French market and signal an exciting era of growth and innovation in the country.
