Several well-known Dutch people, just like a large part of the country, were eagerly looking forward to the F1 final. They are delirious because of max Verstappen’s historic Formula 1 world title and are expressing their joy on social media after the all-deciding race in Abu Dhabi.

Coen Swijnenberg can hardly believe it. “MAX WORLD CHAMPION!!!! What happened?!?! Unbelievable. Tears,” writes the radio DJ on Twitter.

Mattie Valk is also impressed by the performance. “OH MY GOD,” he tweets. Claudia de Breij sticks to “Wow”, followed by the tweet “Crying commentator, then I don’t like it anymore.” Humberto Tan also keeps it short: “MAX WORLD CHAMPION!!!”

Ali B is one of the five thousand Dutch fans in the stands in Abu Dhabi and shares a video showing him following the last nerve-wracking seconds.

Peter Heerschop refers to the exciting battle. “That’s how you’re 15 seconds behind with a few laps left, that’s how you’re world champion,” he tweeted. Daphne Deckers has “goosebumps”. “What. One. Legend,” writes the former model with a photo on Instagram. Jeroen van der Boom is even emotional. “Tears in our eyes!!!,” writes the singer with a photo of his wife Kissing Max on television.
