Olympikus shoes appear on updated list of World Athletics approved shoes

Corre Grafeno 2, Corre 3, Corre Trilha and Corre Vento 2 are included in the new listing

Last week we published a video and a post here on the site saying that Olympikus and Fila shoes could not be used by elite athletes because they were not on the list of shoes approved by World Athletics (read here).

The issue is that several top Brazilian athletes used models from the two brands in competitions until then, which could not happen according to the rules of the entity that governs world athletics. It is worth noting here that it is the responsibility of the Brazilian Athletics Confederation (CBAt) to comply with such rules, which was also not happening.

Today, May 27th, the new list of approved sneakers came out and there are four Olympikus sneakers, the Corre Grafeno 2, Corre 3, Corre Trilha and Corre Vento 2.watch here) or read the full text (here), I knew that the brand had already sent the sneakers for analysis and in the interview we did with Vulcabrás Marketing Director, Márcio Callage (watch here) this was also reinforced.

What perhaps not even Olympikus expected is that the listing with the brand’s models would come out a week before the Porto Alegre Marathon. In conversations with sources linked to the brand and the CBAt, I already knew that strategies were being considered to be adopted if the listing with Olympikus sneakers did not come out until the race, which is sponsored by them.

Understand that the article I wrote was necessary for the CBAt to start reinforcing compliance with the rules and I am already aware that this will happen, and that is why I say that the Fila needs to run and do the same with its shoes, since many elite athletes and high-performance amateurs use their models in street and track competitions.

This also served to make brands give due importance to this procedure, which is simple, and which only adds value to the sneakers they produce. What brand wouldn’t be proud to say that the shoe has been certified by World Athletics?
