Raphinha said in an interview that the former athlete's statements surprised everyone, mainly because Ronaldinho has always shown support for the Seleção. Since he is a reference, everyone there sees him that way. He continued, declaring that the group does not agree and saw commitment and willingness in the other companions: “I completely disagree, everyone has quality, merit” — he stated at the press conference. Ronaldinho Gaúcho's negative comments on the Brazilian team had consequences for the players who are in the United States to compete in the Copa América. Maninho, Raphinha's father, has been friends with the former football player for many years and has always considered Gaúcho an idol. However, according to Raphinha, despite announcing that he would stop watching the team's games, Ronaldinho asked for tickets to attend Brazil's game in the United States: “It could be an (advertising) campaign or not, but he surprised us with what he said, we ended up finding out from Vini that he ended up asking for tickets these days to see our game, it doesn’t match what was said.” — he completed.
