Xavi is disappointed by another home defeat Barcelona,
Xavi is very disappointed with the bad home series he is working on with FC Barcelona. The coach of the Spanish top club saw his team sunday with 0-1 down against Rayo Vallecano, which meant the third defeat in a row at Camp Nou.
Barcelona went down a week and a half ago at home against Eintracht Frankfurt (2-3), which meant elimination in the Europa League. A week ago, Cádiz CF, a low flyer in La Liga, was surprisingly 0-1 too strong.
“I didn’t manage to motivate my players today. I did everything I could, but apparently couldn’t hit them. In the dressing room I felt like we were mentally ready, but in the first half we had a very difficult time,” Xavi said.
“After half-time it went better, but we didn’t deal with the chances effectively. We must now ensure that we keep second place in our hands.
We would have been almost certain of the Champions League if we had won against Cádiz and Vallecano.”

‘We have to motivate ourselves for the CL anthem’
The 42-year-old Xavi is guessing at the cause of Barcelona’s slump. “Are we upset by the Europa League elimination? I don’t know.
We were all enthusiastic about our good series and the good games we played, we talked about prizes,” said the former top midfielder.
“Unfortunately, this is the reality now, but we have to motivate ourselves if we want to play in the Champions League next season. We have to show how much we want to hear that hymn again.”
Barcelona will get the chance for rehabilitation on Sunday, when number sixteen RCD Mallorca comes to visit.
In the round after that, an away game against rival Real Betis, which is fifth in La Liga, awaits.
