Bayern Munich intend to trade Mane at the end of the season, says German broadcaster

Sadio Mané’s passage through Bayern Munich may have its days numbered. According to information released by the German broadcaster “Sky Sport”, the Bavarian club is decided to negotiate the athlete in the middle of the year, after the end of the European season.

The Senegalese striker, who joined Bayern from Liverpool midway through last year, is having his future called into question following a locker room row with club-mate Leroy Sané. The confusion happened after the defeat to Manchester City, 3-0, at the Etihad Stadium, in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

Sané, who has not yet given a public statement about the case, was seen with a swollen lip, while Mané was barred from the related group for last weekend’s Bundesliga round, missing Bayern in a 1-1 draw with Hoffenheim , at the Allianz Arena.

“Sky Sport” claimed that the Bavarian club are looking for alternatives for Mané following his breach of discipline and club guidelines, claiming that “from a sporting point of view, Thomas Tuchel has no plans with the athlete, as he does not fits into your system,” the broadcaster said.

The most recent situation with Sané would not have been the player’s only problem in recent times. According to the German newspaper “BILD”, Sadio Mané was also involved in a fight with Julian Naggelsmann, former Bayern coach, after a confrontation with Paris Saint-Germain. According to multiple reports, the Senegalese striker complained about being restricted to a “supporting role”.

Amid so much turmoil behind the scenes, the team will have a difficult challenge on the field: reversing a three-goal deficit against Manchester City, in the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinals, at the Allianz Arena, next Wednesday (19). Mané’s presence among those listed is still uncertain.
