Chocolate with Pepper: What is the mystery of Ludovico’s box?

Poor Ana Francisca (Mariana Ximenes) doesn’t have a day of peace in “Chocolate com Pimenta”, on TV Globo, and will have to deal with a coup from Jezebel (Elizabeth Savalla) once again. However, who is going to ‘up’ in his life is the late Ludovico (Ary Fountoura). He didn’t just leave all the goods, houses and a luxurious life to Tonico (Guilherme Vieira) and Aninha, but he left a very mysterious box for her.

But now that she has lost everything, she will decide to open the box and discover a secret inside: a chocolate recipe book. It sounds basic, but Ludovico feared that Jezebel would use these recipes and so he left it to his wife. Aninha then connects one point to another and decides to use the book, thus creating special recipes with chocolate and spices, such as cloves, star anise and pink pepper. With this, she begins to change the bias and starts selling the bonbons on the street, which become successful, directly affecting the chocolate factory in Ventura.

Ana Francisca asks Guilherme to let Margot speak. She claims to have been Ludovico’s friend and to be able to testify. Celina asks Aninha to come up with another method to trick the count. Carmem asks Margarido to leave Mocinha alone for a while. Cássia doesn’t let Bernardo kiss her. Danilo receives a subpoena. Vivaldo plays with Gigi on a horse. Sofia guarantees that Danilo will need to testify. Ana Francisca is shocked to hear from Margot about Danilo’s statement. Olga asks Peixoto to watch Cássia and kisses her twice. Ana Francisca accuses Danilo of having sunk too low. He says he’s rooting for her to live under the bridge. Ana Francisca prepares for the hearing with the judge. Márcia advises her to tell the judge that Ludovico married her to give her son a name.

“Chocolate com Pimenta” is a Brazilian soap opera, which originally aired from September 8, 2003 to May 7, 2004, on TV Globo. It was written by Walcyr Carrasco in collaboration with Thelma Guedes and general direction by Fabrício Mamberti, with core direction by Jorge Fernando. It is inspired by the work “The Cheerful Widow”, by Franz Lehár.
