Conversations for the purchase of 90% of SAF in Bahia took place through businessman Paulo Pitombeira. The negotiation was approved by the partners since the 3rd of December last year. According to information from “Globo Esporte”, the group participated directly in the assembly of the current cast of Tricolor. Grupo City also owns teams from Spain, Uruguay and France.

“(Investment) It will depend on the evolution of the team, what we need. Obviously, the way of working will be technical and professional. We will see the positions that need to be improved”, said Soriano at the document signing ceremony.

“Now, with Bahia as the 13th club in City’s global network, a multi-year strategy will be developed and implemented to grow and strengthen Bahia on and off the field, while preserving the club’s identity, history and central position in the local community. ”, says the club statement.

The agreement between Bahia and Grupo City is for 90 years, renewable for additional periods. The deal foresees a minimum of BRL 500 million for the purchase of players, BRL 300 million for the payment of debts and BRL 200 million for infrastructure for other categories.
