Queen of Golden Roses will have a costume with 50,000 crystals: “All of this justifies expenses and madness”

Queen of Golden Roses – Ana Beatriz Godoi said she “has no idea” how much she has already spent on Carnival after 22 years on the avenue.

Ana Beatriz Godoi , Queen of the Drums of the Roses of Gold , is promising a luxurious, colorful and daring costume to enter the avenue on the first night of parades of the Carnival of São Paulo , next Friday (17).

The muse, who has been parading around the school for 22 years, gave some details about her look this year, which will have 50,000 genuine Swarovski crystals and was produced entirely by hand, in an artisanal way, taking more than a month to be ready. According to the Queen, this will be the most luxurious costume of her two decades of Carnival.

“Fantasy is daring, but not overdone. I like to walk the runway with more clothes, with more elaborate looks and with lots of details. I think the beauty of the queen and Carnival lies in that. Going out with little clothes is not beautiful, I’m not going in that line, ”she says. “ I have no idea how much I’ve already spent on Carnival and on this costume, I don’t even do the math anymore . Carnival is my passion, so anything goes,” she said.

The look will feature two embroidery techniques. One is luneville, from French haute couture, which applies stones and pearls to the piece. The other is macramé, a manual technique that uses knots to finish the look. The costume was made in Bruno Oliveira’s studio.

Ana Beatriz started to parade in Rosas de Ouro as a passista. Years later she was elected princess of the Carnival of São Paulo, went through some schools, was crowned highlight, muse and queen and, in 2019, returned to Rosas de Ouro to assume the post of Queen of the Drums.

“All of this justifies spending and madness (laughs), being queen is a dream come true. And I’ve been investing in this to live up to the great Carnival that Rosas will take to the avenue. Therefore, I always seek to do something special and unprecedented, innovating every year. I still want to debut as queen in Rio de Janeiro, I already had some invitations. Who knows, I might not be able to reconcile next year, right?”, she said.
