Skin-icing, the new skin care technique from influencers

The skin-icing technique consists exactly of what its translation says, ice on the skin. Despite being popular with social media users, this type of skin care is not new and has been used for some time by some dermatologists and people who like easy tips and tricks to do at home.

And why is she gaining so much visibility? According to dermatologists, skin-icing improves blood circulation, relieves inflammation and removes skin redness, improves oiliness and reduces swelling and open pores. The benefit is not permanent, but the result is anyone’s dream skin.

Nowadays, some cosmetics and make-up brands are selling a kind of round-shaped ice tray for skin-icing.

The technique can be done by applying the ice directly to the face or by dipping the face a few times in ice water. The first form, however, must be carried out with caution. Direct application with ice for a long time can cause skin burns. Therefore, the best thing is to wrap the ice in a cotton fabric and make circular movements across the face.

There is no restriction regarding the daily application of ice, which can be applied all over the face. The preferred region, however, is that of the eyes, as it reduces morning puffiness. Obviously, the time when it is most used, and perhaps the most suitable for applications, is in the morning.

It is also possible to combine ice with other ingredients such as aloe vera and green tea, especially in more specific conditions. The technique is also widely used before makeup, as it increases durability.

Although there are no contraindications, the application may not be the best for sensitive or reactive skin.
