Whindersson Nunes reveals his journey of treating and overcoming depression after the loss of his son

During a candid and revealing interview on the program ‘Provokes’from the TV Culturapresented by Marcelo Tasthe comedian Whindersson Nunes laid bare the intimate details of his treatment process for dealing with depression. In a moving account, Whindersson revisits the tragedy that had such an impact on his life: the loss of his son, Joao Miguelthe result of his relationship with Maria Lina Degganwho lived a few days after his premature birth in May 2021.

He shared that he had gone through the painful experience of losing a child and, since then, he discovered that only in relation to his son did he find the true meaning of emotion. He clarified that many people mistakenly associate emotion with tears, but actually being emotional means being completely enveloped by the intensity of the feelings that emerge. “I already lost a son, so to get emotional, only in relation to my son”said Whindersson.

Whindersson, currently living his life as a single man, was keen to point out how moments of solitude had a significant impact on his mental health: “Yes, in relationships, thinking that you’ll never find anyone in your life, but it’s just a lack that hits you because you have problems with depression and such. Ups and downs. Depression pushes people away from you. So that thought of ‘never someone will want to be with someone like that, no one will ever…’, you know that stuff? But today I don’t have that anymore, no”.

Despite this, and in the face of public pressure for new relationships, Whindersson was sincere in his statements. According to him, people often have the mistaken idea that, because he is famous and has financial resources, it is impossible for him not to want to be romantically involved. However, Whindersson made it clear that his will is not focused on sexual relations, but on dedicating himself to his projects and enjoying a good night’s sleep.
