Dragon Quest III HD-2D – Square Enix and studios AMATA KK and Team Asano announced Dragon Quest II HD-2D Remake for consoles during the franchise’s 35th anniversary broadcast.
The game is in the hands of the producer, Masaaki Hayasaki, who worked on Octopath Traveler, and will have a visual style that combines pixel art and 3D effects. Franchise creator Yuji Horii has said that there’s a possibility that Dragon Quest I and II will also get this treatment, but hasn’t confirmed anything else about that at this time.
Dragon QuestIII HD-2D Remake is expected to be released worldwide in all regions simultaneously. A release date has not been disclosed.
