Jan Vreman was appointed by De Graafschap as interim coach on Wednesday. The Winterswijker replaces reinier Robbemond, who was fired on Wednesday.
The 56-year-old Vreman was already under contract with the Keuken Kampioen Divisie club, where he is in charge of the under-18 team. He is, as the club says, “appointed for the upcoming matches”.
Vreman was head coach at De Graafschap between 2014 and 2016. In 2014 he was interim coach after the dismissal of Pieter Huistra and a year later he was definitively confirmed as head coach.
In the 2016/2017 season, he was fired due to disappointing results.

With De Graafschap, Vreman promoted to the Eredivisie in 2015 via the play-offs.
That can happen again this year, the ‘Superboeren’ are in ninth place. That spot entitles you to participate in the playoffs at the end of the season.
Vreman is at De Graafschap the replacement of Robbemond, who after five games in a row without victory had to leave the club management. The fifty-year-old Robbemond still had a contract with De Graafschap until mid-2023.
On Friday, Vreman, who played his entire career for De Graafschap as a player, will be on the bench for the first time. His team will then take on MVV Maastricht at De Vijverberg.
