Luxury duplex by Jô Soares is for sale for R$ 12 million. Check out!

Jo Soares lived in a luxury duplex in Higienópolis, one of the most valued addresses in São Paulo. Now, the presenter’s apartment, who died in August last year, aged 84, has been put up for sale for R$12 million.

• Son of businessman Orlando Heitor Soares and Mercedes Leal Soares, José Eugênio Soares, moved with his family to Europe at the age of 12;
• A polyglot, he even thought about following a diplomatic career, but his fascination with the theater spoke louder, even during the years he studied in Switzerland;
• His debut was in the role of an American in “O Homem do Sputnik”, a film by Carlos Manga starring Oscarito, in 1958;
• In the same year, he wrote for TV Mistério, a program on TV Continental, directed by Adolfo Celli, with Paulo Autran and Tônia Carrero in the cast. On TV Rio, she acted in the program “Noites cariocas”. Also at this time he made appearances on TV Tupi.

Joe occupied two floors of the building, which has only one property per floor. “Gordo” bought two units, one on top of the other, and made changes to the location, as can be seen for the first time in 2011, when he opened the doors of his house to Angelicaon the extinct program “Estrelas”, and turned it into a duplex.

WHAT’S IN JÔ SOARES’ APARTMENT

On one of the floors, the artist actually lived. In the other, he had a huge office, with many books on the shelves, like a library, and his plastic arts studio. The apartment overlooks the Pacaembu Valley, wooden walls and doors, photographs and works of art spread over its 628 square meters.

In addition, the property has a library, a barbershop and a chapel dedicated to Santa Rita de Cássia, of whom Jô was devoted. There are four bedrooms, one of which is a suite, cinema with home theater and central air conditioning, in addition to automated windows and anti-noise in all rooms.

Among the many art objects, there is even a life-size replica of Superman in the room. The multi-artist called the place “Espaço Cultural Jô Soares”. It was on this floor that Joe used to spend most of his time, writing, painting, drawing and watching movies. It was also there that he received his closest friends.

The modern property was decorated with classic furniture, such as white sofas, wooden walls and even a grand piano, which he played. In the bedroom, Jô had a hot tub installed ten steps from the bed, with a TV attached.

The decoration items ranged from an armchair made with stuffed animals signed by the famous Campana Brothers, to an original screen of a stylized revolver by Roy Lichtenstein.

In the office, a curiosity: the hat of a firefighter who died in the World Trade Center. In the kitchen, two refrigerators, in the corridors, photos and caricatures on the walls, an altar with his saint of devotion, Santa Rita.

A document issued at the 34th Civil Registry of São Paulo, describes that Soares died in the early hours of August 5, 2022 due to kidney and heart failure, aortic stenosis and arterial fibrillation
