São Paulo announces the return of Alexandre Pato

This Friday, the 26th, the São Paulo announced the return of Alexandre Pato. After three years of his last passage, the striker returned to Tricolor to write the third chapter of his history with the club. At the age of 33, the player returns to Brazilian football after two and a half seasons in the United States, playing for Orlando City.

Without a club since the beginning of the year, Pato had been flirting with his return to São Paulo. Back in Brazil to treat a serious knee injury, the striker took part in his recovery process at Reffis, the club’s medical department. Thus, speculations have been intensifying in recent months, until the confirmation of the third passage through Tricolor. The player signed a contract with productivity clauses, lasting until the end of the year.

In an announcement video, the player spoke a little about his relationship with São Paulo, which was a club where he identified and had a connection with the fans since the first pass. “My story with São Paulo began in 2014, I experienced one of the best moments of my career. I identified with the club and its fans”, said Alexandre Pato.

In São Paulo, accumulating the two previous passages, the striker has already played 105 official matches. With 32 goals scored and 15 assists, Tricolor is the second team that Pato directly contributed to goals in his career, second only to Milan, with 81 direct participations.

“I never stopped accompanying São Paulo and learned another song: I will always be with you. And I always have been, whether at a distance or at Morumbi. Today, I return to the place where I feel at home. And if the three, tricolor and three-time champion, means so much to the fans, I can say that I am very happy to wear this shirt for the third time”, said the player.
