The state championships – This is not the first time that “lesser” clubs have reached the final of their state championships. In 2023 Água Santa faces Palmeiras in the decision in São Paulo, already in the state of Bahia, Jacupiense faces Bahia. Inter de Limeira – 1986 – Paulista Championship
The club from Limeira tied the first game against Palmeiras by 0 to 0 and won the second by 2 to 1 . Verdão was 10 years without reaching the final at that time.
Bragantino – 1990 – Paulista Championship
The title decision became known as the “Final Caipira” since Braga’s opponent was Novorizontino. After two 0-0 draws, Bragantino received the title for having the best campaign.
Sao Caetano – 2004 – Paulista Championship
Another “Final Caipira”, this time the match was against Paulista de Jundiaí. São Caetano won both matches, the first 3-1 and the second 2-0
Ituano – 2014 – Paulista Championship
After losing the first leg 1-0 and winning the return 1-0, Ituano was consecrated on penalties against Santos. The game ended Ituano (7) x (6) Santos on penalties.
Ipatinga – 2005 – Minas Gerais Championship
With the best campaign in the state, Ipatinga arrived to face Cruzeiro in the final, having only 1 defeat in 11 games. The first game was 0-0 and the second Ipatinga won 2-1
Youth – 1998 – Gaucho Championship
40 years without any home team lifting the cup, Juventude arrived to end the taboo. With a 3-1 first leg victory, the return tie was enough to secure the title.
New Hamburg – 2017 – Gaucho Championship

The Gaúcha zebra won all the Gre-Nais it played and had the best campaign. In the final, the two games were draws and the penalty shootout was glorious for Novo Hamburgo.
